If you missed previous year's Senanus Island habitat restoration excursions, now's your chance to get on board for an adventure removing invasive plants!
9:00 am - The EcoCruising Tours boat will take out its first load of 12 passengers.
9:30 am - This trip will be primarily reserved for the school students and staff but there might one or two spaces open.
10:00 am - The EcoCruising Boat takes its last trip out.
Morning work session - wear sturdy shoes or boots and some form of sun protection. We'll divide you up into work crews each led by one of our old hands. We'll have gloves and all the tools you'll need but if you have a favourite shovel or clippers or loppers, feel free to bring them along.
Noon break - because our arrival times are staggered, the Traditional Welcome to Senanus Island will be given by Tsartlip Elder John Elliott at this time. Then, we'll relax a bit and socialize during our lunch (don't forget to bring one).
Afternoon work session - we'll finish off whatever areas we have been working on and then head back for our respective sailing times.
1:45 pm - the first EcoCruising return trip will again be primarily reserved for the school students and staff because the students have to get back in time to catch their school buses home.
2:30 pm - the equipment boat will be loaded up and head back to the dock.
2:15 and 2:45 pm - the Ecocruising boat make its last two sailings with everybody back on the dock at the Brentwood Bay Lodge by around 3 pm.
