About Judith Arney
Judith is an Ethnoecologist with specializations in Ecological Restoration and Native Plant Propagation.
Currently I lead on two restoration projects and propagate native plants appropriate to these sites on the Saanich Peninsula, BC. I also love hearing requests from the community about native plants that people would like to see growing, important foods, medicines and materials, so they can be harvested sustainably once more.
We have also restarted our PEPÁḴEṈ HÁUTW̱ (Blossoming Place) Native Plants and Garden Education program at ȽÁU,WELṈEW̱ Tribal School. This program is a vision for bringing hands on native plant education into schools, connecting learners to local projects restoring native food ecosystems and providing opportunities to learn more about traditional foods through community feasts.
I am dedicated to revitalizing native ecosystems in W̱SÁNEĆ territory (and beyond)!
