This workshop will be an introduction to creating Frog-Friendly spaces with native plants, led by Kristen Miskelly, owner of Saanich Native Plants Nursery and Consulting. Kristen will provide her expertise on recommended plant species that provide habitat for amphibians, and how they can be effectively planted in a moist, shaded area. She can also provide planting recommendations for a sunny wetland site.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This workshop is entirely OUTDOORS on a privately-owned conservation area with some uneven terrain. There are no bathrooms on-site, but facilities are available at Matheson Lake Park and Glenrosa Farmhouse, each just a 5 minute drive and we can make shuttles to and from the site.
RSVP for more information and location details. We also promote ride-sharing, so be sure to ask us how to be a part in that, be it driver or rider.
This workshop is part of the Good Neighbours Wetland Habitat Stewardship Project 2018-2021. It is funded in part by EcoAction and Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation.
