On Friday March 20 10AM to 12PM we are hosting a last-minute work party to install more wildflowers into a beautiful pollinator-attracting FEDGE or flower hedgerow on the fenceline of Metchosin Farm

Learn about how to install a bee friendly hedgerow!

A Habitat Hedgerow provides benefits to farmers as a windbreak and shelter for wildlife. Hedgerows also provide habitat features pollen, nectar, and other resources for pollinators like butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects. This hedgerow is perennial wildflower-dominant as opposed to most hedgerows that focus on shrubs. Many of the wildflowers we are planting are sourced from Saanich Native Plants Nursery at Haliburton Farm.

RSVP is required, please send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to ensure there are enough tools and snacks available.

Gloves, shovels, and other tools will be provided but feel welcome to bring your own.

This was made possible in part by our grantors Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, EcoAction, Metchosin Foundation, and private donors.
