On Saturday May 2 10:00AM to 3:00PM
Join us for a hands-on workshop-meets-work party to install a diversity of native shrubs and perennial wildflowers to create a beautiful pollinator-attracting hedgerow on the fenceline of Lohbrunner Community Farm Co-op
Learn about how to install a bee friendly hedgerow on your property!
A Habitat Hedgerow provides benefits to farmers as a windbreak and shelter for wildlife. Hedgerows also provide habitat features pollen, nectar, and other resources for pollinators like butterflies, bees, and other beneficial insects. This hedgerow is perennial wildflower-dominant as opposed to most hedgerows that focus on shrubs. Many of the wildflowers we are planting are sourced from Saanich Native Plants Nursery at Haliburton Farm.
Gloves, shovels, and other tools will be provided but feel welcome to bring your own.
This was made possible in part by our grantors Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, EcoAction, Metchosin Foundation, and private donors.
This event takes place on SC'IANEW territory.
