HAT and YMCA Seek Salamanders in the Forest

We are excited to partner with YMCA-YWCA of Greater Victoria Camp Thunderbird Program Manager Hana Kucera to monitor for our local salamander species with 5 of these artificial cover objects (ACOs) - specially designed boards that allow for creatures to crawl under and into the little spaces it creates. To learn more about salamanders, visit our Amphibians and Roads Project or Check out our Amphibian Stewardship Series

Then the visiting campers will be monitoring the boards once per week to assess which species are present. Science in Action! Huge thanks to YMCA Camp Thunderbird

This is thanks to our Good Neighbours Wildwood Wetland Stewardship Program funded by Habitat Conservation Trust Foundation, EcoAction, Sitka Foundation, the Province of BC, and donors like you. To support the work HAT does, you can become an Amphibian Ally.
