Every day our field crew is on the land, caring for the ecosystems that make this region unique. They're working in endangered Garry oak meadows and coastal Douglas-fir forests, removing invasive species, planting native species, monitoring wildlife habitat, building community, and stewarding the landscapes that so many species and people depend on.
But this work doesn't happen on its own.
As the field season continues, we need your help to keep our crews equipped and working where they're needed most.
This summer, we're raising $20,000 to help fund restoration work through the rest of the year. Your gift will help support the people and equipment that make this work possible, including crew wages and the tools, fuel, safety gear, and monitoring equipment needed to restore habitats across the region.

Here’s how this project grows hope in your community:
We are able to create meaningful jobs for young people in the environmental field that pay a living wage. And, with your support, we can extend our field season into the autumn, keeping our field crew employed for longer.

Our field crew works to restore the ecologically and culturally significant Garry oak meadows and coastal Douglas-fir forests that are endangered in our region.
2) Restores endangered ecosystems
Purple sanicle (Sanicula bipinnatifida), a threatened species found in Garry oak meadows that HAT monitors.
Our work wouldn't be possible without the ongoing support of our community: habitat stewards, volunteers, donors, community partners, and funders. This campaign helps build and strengthen those connections.
3) Grows community stewardship
The field team works with biologists to monitor for species at risk at one of our sites in Metchosin.
Your donation has a tangible impact on the ground and in your community. It helps support:
Restoring 100,000+ square metres of ecologically significant habitats
Caring for 49 restoration sites, public and private, across the region
Removing 500+ cubic metres of invasive species
Collaborating with 15+ community partners, including nations, organizations, and municipalities
Extending our field crew’s season into autumn, keeping this good work going for longer!

Habitat Acquisition Trust will make every reasonable effort to use your gift as directed to support specific programs and initiatives. All donations help to advance HAT’s charitable mandate. If a program or project becomes fully funded, is completed, changes in circumstance, or cannot proceed as planned, the Habitat Acquisition Trust Board of Directors reserves the right to reallocate funds to other priority conservation needs or general operations, in accordance with applicable Canadian charity law.
