BECOME A MEMBER

Membership is one of the principle aspects of how Habitat Acquisition Trust is governed. As a member-based organization, every January members participate in HAT governance at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). These meetings give HAT board and staff the chance to be accountable to our members, to report out on the previous year and express our vision for the coming year.

Every year HAT holds a special event specifically for our members outside of the Annual General Meeting. The Friends of HAT Celebration give us all the chance to socialize, to get to know each other, to share stories about our time in the HAT community, and for HAT to hold up volunteers and partners for their work.

Membership dues are a “pay-within-your-means” sliding-scale. If you are someone that financial costs would stop you from becoming a HAT member, please select the “Reduced Barrier Membership” option below. For those of you who have the means, feel free to donate what you can towards your membership, and select “Become a Member” below, and you will receive a tax receipt for your charitable donation.

HAT Membership Levels

  • Student Membership

    Enrolled as a full-time student in any tertiary education or equivalent training at a university or institution.

  • Individual Membership

    For anyone person who wants to become a Habitat Hero.

    When donating a set amount of your choice each month you will get a HAT Individual Membership

  • Dual / Family Membership

    For two people in the same household, for example, spouses, parents, dependents, etc.

    You’ll receive 2 HAT membership cards.

  • Organization Membership

    Organizations, government agencies, schools or businesses that want to sponsor HAT. Contact membersᵂhat.bc.ca
