FAQ about donating to Habitat Acquisition Trust

  • Please see instructions on the donation form here. Thank you so much for supporting HAT!

  • One-Time Donations are for when you have some money that you would like to donate to a good cause. Whereas Monthly Donation is a set amount that is automatically donated to HAT monthly (like a subscription). With Monthly donations, you can stop or put it on pause at any time.

Annual Membership is included for monthly donors.

  • This is entirely up to you. However, it is most beneficial to us when funds are non-designated. All non-designated funds are put into the "Where Most Needed" fund. HAT Board Members determine what area has the greatest need and use this fund for that project(s).

If you choose to designate your donation, then your donation will be used specifically for that HAT program.

  • A Tax Receipt will be generated automatically if you give using the portal below or on the CanadaHelps website. If you donate via other methods (cheque, e-transfer, etc.) Tax Receipts are done manually and can take up to a month.

  • HAT does accept non-monetary donations on a case-by-case basis. We usually accept office chairs, monitors, lamps, etc., for the HAT Office and Event tents, large thermos, etc., for Volunteer events. Please reach out if you have an item in good working order and feel HAT would benefit from it.

Email hatmail@hat.bc.ca with details on the item and where you are located, and we will begin the conversation from there.

  • Data entered into Canada Helps portals embedded on hat.bc.ca is securely stored by both Habitat Acquisition Trust and Canada Helps.
