Taking Care on the Land

HAT is honoured to steward ecologically rich lands and waters and to share these lands with you.

These areas of stewardship span the unceded territories of the W̱SÁNEĆ, SC’IȺNEW, and T'Sou-ke Nations, lək̓ʷəŋən peoples (Songhees and Xwsepsum Nations) and the many other Coast Salish peoples who have lived in relationship with and stewarded these lands since time immemorial and continue to live in relationship to the Land today.

As a visitor to these territories, we kindly ask you to follow the guidelines below to ensure the well-being of these ecosystems.

  • Keep on trails, unless specifically instructed by HAT staff members in the event of restoration or guided activities.

  • Leave no trace and remove any garbage you bring into the area, including pet waste.

  • Respect the ecosystems by avoiding the disturbance of flora and fauna.

  • No fires or sheltering is permitted.

  • Keep any pets leashed to avoid disturbing the ecosystems.

  • Be prepared for weather and trail conditions and prepare accordingly.

By submitting the form below, you are confirming that you have read all of the above guidelines regarding access to properties that HAT stewards. You agree to be a responsible visitor as an invitee of Habitat Acquisition Trust.
