Good Neighbours: Saanich Biodiversity Partners

HAT is partnering with the District of Saanich to pilot a project that provides Saanich community members in a particular focus area additional support to undertake backyard stewardship for boosting biodiversity.

  • We are starting small, and focusing on Saanich residents around Marigold Park, Knockan Hill Park, South Valley Park, Dunbar Park, Copley West and East Parks, and the south end of Quick’s Bottom Park.

See this map with blue points on 200 properties - do you live here or next to these properties? Then you may be eligible for a site visit and support!

If you live at one of these properties or adjacent, and you are interested in learning more about this program, email Emily at HAT emily@hat.bc.ca or take survey below

  • Support for residents may include:

    • individualized on-site stewardship consultation with landowners

    • site report with goals, recommended actions, and resources

    • hands-on training of effective stewardship techniques

    • experiential stewardship workshops and walks

    • Resources from both HAT Library and District of Saanich
