GUMMY GOOSEBERRY
This spiny shrub replaces a thirsty cedar hedge for privacy and can be planted on top of raised areas. Excellent in dry sandy soils, fuchsia-like flowers are a favorite food and shelter for hummingbirds, and bloom as early as February. It has sticky (‘gummy’) leaves, and the sticky, hairy berries are birds’ delight.
